Fight Club

Synopsis

Fight Club follows an unnamed narrator who is stuck in a dull corporate job and suffers from insomnia and emotional numbness. His life begins to change when he meets Tyler Durden, a mysterious and confident soap salesman who completely rejects modern consumer culture.

Tyler introduces him to a secret underground fight club, where men gather in basements to physically fight as a way of escaping frustration and reclaiming a sense of identity. What starts as a small, hidden group slowly evolves into a larger, more extreme movement called Project Mayhem, which begins to spread chaos and challenge societal order.

As the narrator becomes more involved, his relationship with Tyler grows more intense and unstable, and he also becomes entangled with Marla Singer, a woman who shares his same self-destructive tendencies.

The story builds toward a major psychological twist that completely changes how the audience understands Tyler, the narrator, and everything that has happened. The film explores identity, alienation, masculinity, and anti-consumerism, and is known for its dark tone, sharp dialogue, and unexpected narrative structure.
